Spectator mode for other people to join you

This suggestion is not for better camera options for your own matches, this is for joining in other peoples public matches as a spectator.
Go spectate in VR, or you can spectate without going in VR at all. Only matches where both players set their games to public can be watched.
If both players in a match have set in their match settings that spectators are allowed, then that match will be added to the list of matches you can spectate.
People who start Rumble with or without VR have the option to go into spectate game mode. In this mode you will see the list of all matches able to be spectated.
When you spectate you become a camera that can fly around to look at any location. You can either manually control the camera. Or you can use camera modes that automatically focus on the battle.
VR spectator
- Fly around to where you want to look and just look around.
Flatscreen Spectator
- Smooth freecam, fly the camera around with keyboard+mouse or controller, with smoothed motions.
- Spectate through the eyes of a certain player.
- Camera that automatically follows the action.
Ability to switch easily between these mode, and able to zoom in or out.
In the corners there will be the title cards of the players that are playing. Under that their health. Current session match score and round score. And a host/client icon. This UI can be toggled off for clean content creation.
No actual spectators rendered in game to make sure it does not impact game performance.
This would be amazing for content creation and tournaments and a fun way to chill when too tired to play yourself.

At the risk of betraying my absolute lack of knowledge of servers and networks and so on:
Would this increase latency? 'Cause Rumble doesn't need any more lag.

8DIV4JDG5FFT Even if it did have an impact, you could decide to not allow spectators in your matches to have no impact at all. Only matches where both players want to share matches would be able to be spectated.

Spectator/Replay Camera

The game needs a way to record fights other than from the eye sockets of the players. An invisible spectator with a floating camera or a simple automatic orbiting one that can be enabled to record a given match would be a great way to show off/stream/market the game/show people how cool RUMBLE really is

There should be a spectator mode to watch your friends in matches.

Make it so you can spectate other matches in a ring around the main arena
this is mostly just because i want to know what the 2 other people on aus are doing

Spectator outside of Park mode

I've messed with this a bit with friends in park mode but being able to see a fight from a third person perspective helps a ton with new players to see what's happening and is a very dynamic non dizzying camera angle for youtube highlights for marketing the game as well.
Tourneys often have a competitor record their POV but being able to watch a match adds a new layer to what makes the game so cool.
I would love to see either one of the two, either in matches that a friend is going to have you set yourself up to spectate them so you're either a ghost floating around in the audience OR, a system that in the park two people can set themselves up to duel and those not selected to duel spectate from the sides until the match ends and a return to park mode.
I understand this is a huge ask but I feel it could really entice more players to check out the game or even dedicate themselves to becoming "cameramen"

FYI LIV does have a controller setup to have controller control over the camera. I haven't messed with it, but it is there. It does require a non-Fighter physically with one of the fighters though.
Also Rumble's F10 Menu has a "Hide Avatar" to hide yourself from the camera.

UlvakSkillz: Yeah it is not helpful for the actual arena matches since the camera follows you around and turns when you do sadly. If they could attach it so something invisible in the arena or something that would be perfect honestly

i could use a nice spectator mode!!!

you can now use liv, since the game has liv intergaration

TNVYNQL9TB1H: the issue with LIV is that it is attached to a player. Which requires a camera locked based on a player instead of being able to fly around and spectate/ replay to get a better angle of what happened.
A replay camera would record the fight (most likely recording the timestamps at which each move was performed and each input was given) that way it could just play all of the moves back and you could fly around re-watching thr fight so that you could see it from better angles and learn from it.

SDRAWKCABMIAY: LIV Does have controller support, but yes, a replay viewer would be amazing to have. You explained how League of Legends does replays and I agree. If they are adamant on having 1 complete timeline, then that would be the ideal way I believe.

UlvakSkillz: I just had WAY too much fun messing around with the controller support (gamepad mode). Thank you for letting me know about it. This would have made making those Shift Stone stickers for the wiki about 99% easier if I had even considered playing with LIV for that. It will be a key part of photos I add to the wiki in the future.
Now onto the negatives! While it can be much more easily maneuvered it is still 100% attached to the player controller. This means that not only does it move when you use the left stick to move BUT it also moves if you use the right stick to turn the player. This means that when it is further away it SWINGS around the player at the speed of sound to rotate and be in the same location relative to the player.
The rotation doesn't happen if you turn in real life but it is impossible to play by only MOVING in real life so that doesn't help much for spectating. The camera jumps when you jump, dashes when you dash, and walks when you walk. It could be slightly better for park matches with a third person spectating since you can get up higher easier than with the sliders I guess.
Basically, it is just a much easier way to control the static camera from what I've found. It is sadly very player locked.

That would be pretty sweet! I WOULD LOVE a replay cam!!
SO MANY great moments are just lost but could've been played over and over again if there was a third party replay cam to review the match!
