Freeze Stone

A stone that upgrades Parry to Freeze. A Frozen object will ALWAYS stay in place for the entirety of its Freeze timer, distinct from Parry, which objects can be bumped out of. However, a Frozen object will accumulate momentum which will be applied at the expiration of the timer, BOTW stasis style. This would give more complexity to combat and increase the spread of moves that stones help buff.

This could be very interesting for flick/hold traps depending on the length of the timer (assuming flick/hold don't break it).

this sounds fun if it can be implemented well!

I would like to add, I think this should apply for a VERY short amount of time. Maximum one second. Time enough for 2 of each modifier to be applied, but no more than that. Basically enabling consistent 6-hits for the cost of a stone slot and a skill check.

I think it would be better to have a longer timer and maybe some sort of limit to the momentum or modifiers so it doesn't allow unimaginable speeds, though even without a limit this would only be useful for experimenting and weird tech with no real application cause of the time it takes to set it up.
But if we go back to the longer timer thing, the reason I think that is because otherwise it's literally just making impossible combos possible for a stone slot, which in my opinion doesn't really fit the vibe of the game that much.
I'd personally enjoy a 3-5 second timer to allow for attacks from multiple angles.
Or you could also have a really long timer like 10+ seconds to allow for easy traps, but now that I really think about it that might not be that interesting and allow for boulder traps... if that isn't already a thing with delayed parry stasis or whatever it's called.

I can imagine something like boulder>freeze>UKSKUKSKUKSKUKSKUKSKUKS happening and just sending something absolutely flying

this is an interesting concept, though i feel it would end up in a lack of counterplay
i assume both players could influence the momentum, which would lead to a tug-of-war, and the meta of how to charge momentum would likely be found very quickly (this is all assuming hitting it with structures influences it)
but with that "tug-of-war concept in mind. youre able to force your opponent into a lose-lose situation if you freeze something, charge up a bit of momentum (enough to hit them) and then start fighting them from a different angle, they would have to choose which side to protect from... cool in concept, but i feel would just devolve the gameplay into throwing rocks at other rocks, instead of at each other

I personally think structures shouldn't apply momentum and maybe even just break a weaker structure like normal. Cause having an invincible structure that just gains momentum seems like it would be a bit forced into the gameplay loop.

this could be cool, putting around debris for a double attack, The stone could also freeze entirely, allowing you to put around annoying debris to block off stuff, but that could be too OP
